Pole Shoot Fit 🍑

Served up cake for my birthday yesterday 😜🎂

I had to bring my baby Cali to the studio with me today and she had a time! Since Cali was such a good girl I bought her a new bed to use in my car. She ended up passing out as soon as she got in. I guess it’s safe to say she had a very eventful day. Hope she gets a lot of rest tonight because we’re back at the studio in the morning 😌

Feels good getting back into the flow of pole after getting injured. When I started pole 12 years ago, I remember my instructors constantly telling us make sure to work both sides and I would ignore the advice like any student just wanting to “fly”. Well fast forward and babyyyy I paid the price for not listening. A few months ago I noticed how one side of my body started feeling bigger compared to the other like I had gained more muscle mass on one side. I kept commenting about it but kinda laughed it off. After all this part of my pole journey is completely new to me. Also, in my defense anyone that does pole knows how much it sucks to workout your non-dominant side. About two months ago I started feeling a strain in my left inner elbow and my muscles on that side started giving out quickly. It didn’t occur to me how important conditioning was until I had to take a break from tricks and choreo for two months. Which was agonizing! I’m still so happy that pole is a multi-layered sport. Since I couldn’t pull I started working on more floor work and I can’t wait to share more of that side of the journey with y’all. My advice to any new polers or anyone thinking about trying out pole. Make sure you work both sides of your body. Yeah, I know it’s annoying but getting injured sucks more. Pole is a hard sport and can be rewarding in so many ways with proper technique.

Practicing for my solo circus act 😌
